Product Manager – Life Science & Scientific (Proteins)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY 

We are seeking a motivated, passionate and experienced commercial candidate to be a product champion for our Life Science product portfolio. As a key member of the Life Science Business Unit, you will support the sales team and customers by providing expert knowledge in the field.

Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, you will work closely with Business Development Specialists and the Marketing team to ensure our Life Science portfolio is professionally represented and supported in the Australasian market. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to expand their scope into building the portfolio with new suppliers and a key focus on business growth and strategic initiatives to build the market.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the sales function on the business unit by providing expert knowledge to stakeholder on product lines for the assigned portfolio.
  • Conduct customer and staff training, product evaluations as well as validation studies for successful go-live post instrument installation.
  • Assess new product market entry opportunity including financial analysis.
  • Identify potential opportunities for new products or product improvements.
  • Assess product competitive advantage over competitors and support the sales process.
  • Management of the supplier catalogue including regulatory affairs.
  • Management of product recalls in conjunction with the QA/RA Director.
  • Work closely with the Business Unit Manager to develop product tactical strategies and build market share.
  • Collaborate with other members of the commercial team, Marketing, Engineering, and Customer Support, to ensure the successful launch and ongoing support of products.
  • Collaborate with the supplier on product strategies, product launch and implementation and play a key role in achieving both supplier and company forecasts and budgets.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing teams to develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products from the competition.
  • Provide technical support for reagents (non-instrument) both pre and post-sales.
  • Travel regularly nationally to meet with suppliers/customers, and understand new and existing markets.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Qualifications in Life Science, with an in-depth understanding of protein quantification methods preferably multiplexing technology as well as flow cytometry and tissue diagnostics
  • Minimum of 5 years sales/commercial/business development experience.
  • Relevant industry experience with at least 5 years of work experience in the life science field.
  • Proven track record of interpretation and demonstration of technical information.
  • Proven track record in professional presentation delivery/customer training.
  • Experience in Key Opinion Leader engagement.
  • Communication & presentation skills.
